The Trial Version is a PHYSICAL PRODUCT.  We ship it to you in a DVD-style case.  Inside the case is the installation CD and a "USB Key" (known as a "dongle")  that you plug into your computer in order to run the software.

(Note: Because all high-quality digitizing software including Generations requires a physical security key that looks like a flash memory stick, you cannot just download the trial software.)
