LOGIN: My LOGIN Doesn't Work (0408-1147)

PRINT THIS PAGE OUT FIRST!

There are several reasons you may be having a problem.  I'll go through them here from most likely to least likely and what you can do right away to fix them!

The most likely problem is that your PC's internal CLOCK is off, causing the cookie to erase itself on your PC. AFTER each of these changes, RESTART your PC. You will then know which one solved your problem. Alternatively, do all of the following then RESTART one time and try logging in. It may save you from doing several logins, but you won't know which problem was causing the error.

Please check your time and your date on your PC and correct them if they are wrong. To do this, go to START / SETTINGS / CONTROL PANEL / DATE & TIME and be sure the time and date are correct.  If it is off by 1 day or 1 month, you should know immediately that this IS the problem and you can skip the rest of these steps, do a RESTART and get back to having fun on the ATW website.

If that doesn't work - try opening Internet Explorer then click on the top menu where it says TOOLS. In the tools menu, click on "INTERNET OPTIONS". Go to "SECURITY".   Click on "DEFAULT" and adjust the slider to "MEDIUM".  Click on "OK" and "OK".  Reboot for this to take effect.

If that doesn't work - try opening Internet Explorer then click on the top menu where it says TOOLS. In the tools menu, click on "INTERNET OPTIONS". Go to "SECURITY".   Click on "TRUSTED SITES" (Green Checkmark) and then click on the box that says "SITES...".  When you see the list of trusted sites, place the following into the empty box... "http://artisticthreadworks.com"  and click on the "ADD" button.  Click on "OK" and "OK".  Reboot for this to take effect.

If that doesn't work - try opening Internet Explorer then click on the top menu where it says TOOLS. In the tools menu, click on "INTERNET OPTIONS".  Go to "PRIVACY".   Set it to "DEFAULT" and adjust the slider to "ACCEPT ALL COOKIES".  Click on "OK" and "OK".  Reboot for this to take effect.

Another problem with Internet Explorer is that there is a "Temporary Files Folder" where web pages are stored.  The idea is to save you downloading time by saving pages you have already visited.  The problem is that you have to empty those old pages eventually or your Temp Folder will become completely packed to the point where it can't store another one.  Open Tools / Internet Options / Browsing History / Delete then choose "Temporary Internet Files" and click the "Delete Files" button.   Reboot for this to take effect.

If that isn't the problem, then the next place to check in your "Internet Security" software. If you are using Norton or McAffee Internet Security, try adding our site as a TRUSTED website.

If you don't know how to adjust settings, try turning off that program and loggin in to ATW. If you can login successfully, then you will at least know that the problem is with your Internet Security software and can get some help from the manufacturer with adjusting the program.
