Am I Rude?
Yesterday afternoon I picked up a phone call...
...and was treated to a sales-pitch from a person selling
how-to-run-your-business information. For a mere $150 they would send me a
looseleaf binder filled with everything you need to know to operate a business.
Wow. (click)
I don't mind advertising on the TV if I'm watching a channel that is
supported by advertising. (IE: Not a pay-per-movie channel). And I don't
mind most of the rest of the advertising I see in my life. Heck! My
newsletter here contains advertising! But I do mind having someone ring my
phone and then advertise to me. I think it's just plain RUDE!
Holly thinks I'm rude when I hang up on them. She is SOOOO nice! "No
thank you." "No thank you." "No thank you." etc etc until I
have to yell from my room... "Hang up on them!"
That's when Holly tells me I'm rude. I think I'm just returning the
favor!
What
do you think? Am I Rude?

She is already finished digitizing and test-sewing the November and
December design sets and will be working on January releases soon.

Are you getting the "Embroidery Daily News" yet?
We
have started a "Daily News" for the folks at DigitizersWorld. It's freeeeee (one
of my favorite words!) and every day you get to see what new designs are being
released all across the internet!
Take a look at these two issues as an
example of what it's like and if you want to be notified every time a new Daily
News is released, just add your email address to the box at the beginning of
either one of these issues...

As an example, here's one
of the sets that were announced this week, a set of authentic Jacobean

I'm Hooked On FSL!
Okay, ladies. I saw a post the other
day for FSL and asked for some freebies. Once I had sewn out one pattern from
"Secrets of," I was hooked. I bought a Christmas ornament set to do for my craft
sale this weekend. I love things that sew out really fast and most of these
ornaments do. However, I have found that I am having to change my needle very
frequently. Does anybody else have this problem? I love these but don't know if
I can afford the needles for my habit. A lady at my Bernina dealer told me I
need to change my needle every 6 to 7 hours of sewing. Has anyone else been told
this or a differnt amount of time? Is there a needle out there that is better
than another? I currently use Organ and Schmetz. I can't tell the difference
between the two of them.
Also, I have a big craft sale this wekend and
covet your prayers for much success. Have a blessed day. God bless, Cara

first yes you will need to change your needle very often. Lace is stitch
intensive. My machine eats shmetz needles for breakfast. I use organ needles and
get them at www.allstitch.net. I buy them by the 100. Titanium will last
longer but haven't used them yet. And for 10.25 per hundred I can afford to
change them often. That less than I spend for 2 packs of 5 of the shmetz. Terri
Posted Nov 02,2006 3:16 PM Nanafour Me too. I buy 11's for
FSL. I usually buy three packs at a time and get shipping free. I think if the
order is over $30 the shipping is free. I change needles often because
everything just stitches better with a sharp needle. Della/KS
Posted Nov 02,2006 3:14 PM CarolynH Hi Carla, yes I also
have problems with needles but I use them as long as possible. Hubby says I'm
taking him broke! I love doing the FSL and have made a lot of different ones, my
daughter sells them at craft shows. I have also boughten several sets. There are
tons of them out there for free if you go looking. This is one of my favorites
to do. http://mars.oesd.com/angeloffer/ Hope that works, good luck
and have fun, Carolyn

The titanium coated needles (called Perfect Durability) really do last
longer than the regular ones. I use them for everything, and you can still get
them in the different sizes, ball point, sharp, etc. You have all of the options
as with regular needles. They are a bit more expensive, but I have found that it
is worth the extra price in the longrun. I still haven't had the chance to try
the FSL, but I have lots of freebies downloaded and as soon as I get the chance,
I know I will be hooked too!
Thanks Cara for that post and the responses it inspired! If you
