Things you WISH you had known...

I've been involved in several hobbies throughout my lifetime and one thing I've found is that after I've been in the hobby for a while there are things I've learned that I WISH I had known when I started!

For example... after having our first machine for a few months we figured out that the PES format was the most popular one out there. Every website had PES designs on it but not all of them had our format so we had to convert most designs we downloaded from PES to the format we started with.

I'm wondering... is there anything you WISH you had known when you started in machine embroidery but didn't find out until later?
