The Week That Makes You Appreciate Good Weeks!

This was one of those weeks you'd just as soon forget about except that they make normal ones seem so nice.

It could have been worse, we didn't loose any friends or family members, no terminal illness or anything like that, just some aggravations.  It started on Monday when we were finalizing our plans for the server to be repaired.  It was supposed to take place late Monday night and be finished early Tuesday morning.

We have learned that any time someone says a computer job is going to take 3 hours that we better plan on 12 hours.  It's a real simple formula, just multiply the estimate times 4 and you'll get a number closer to the truth.  So we thought it would take from 10pm to 10am and we'd have the site back up and running as normal by 11am.  It was closer to 11pm when it was up again, and there were several things not running right.  It took until Thursday noon to get everything back to normal.

The good news is that the repairs seem to have fixed the problem we were having. Members were being logged out after just a few minutes or while trying to post to one of our many forums.  Glad those problems were fixed!

The other problems were that Pearl came down with a terrible cough Wednesday evening and we were up most of the night feeding her Robitussen DM until we could get her to the vet in the morning.

Then I came down with a stomach flu on Thursday night and I was flat on my back all day Friday.  Except for the trip we had to make to pick up Holly's car from the dealer where she wass having some work done on it.  As soon as I got home from that trip I went back to bed.

Well - I know you've all had weeks like that too at times, and there are worse weeks we've all had, but I'll be happy to start fresh and just forget about this one!
