How to make the embroidered Christmas Gift Tags using the designs from the Design Library.

Choose a piece of fabric with a clear background or at least a background that is tame enough that you will be able to see the "To / From / Names" written on it when the gift tag is used.

Add "Decor-Bond" by Pellon to the back of the fabric.  This stabilizer is available at JoAnns and is an iron-on backing.  

With the Decor-Bond ironed on, hoop the fabric...

... and have your machine add the main part of the design...

Before the last color stitches, turn your backing material upside-down and slide it under the hoop.  There is no need to remove the hoop from your machine or to attach the backing material in any way.  Just set it in place under the hoop. This is called "floating" -- nothing holds the backing in place.

When you are ready, start your machine again for the final color to be sewn.  The thread will lock the backing material in place, hiding the backside of your design.
