February 2010 Project Photo Contest
All projects in this contest must be made with this month's member bonus designs. These designs are FREE to all ATW members. Just login and download them in the Design Library under the "BONUS CATEGORY"
To enter the contest, make SOMETHING using one or more of those designs, photograph your project, and put the photo into our special photo gallery set up just for the contest.
Finalists for this contest will be based on our members votes for "best project". After the voting ends we will look at the highest scoring projects and choose the final winners. We are looking for originality, presentation, and duplicatability in the project. *
Best projects win cash prizes!
1st prize = $100*
2nd prize =$50*
3rd prize = $25*
If you looked at this month's member bonus designs and said "I'll make something with those!" then you now have a GREAT reason to do that project NOW this month instead of putting it off until "someday"! SOMEONE will win this contest on the 1st of next month. It might as well be you!

ATW members can download this set for FREE in the Design Library this month! Just click under "Bonus" and get the designs now, then start your project. This MIGHT be a contest that we repeat every month of the year, depending on the number of entries in each contest!
This contest give you a reason...
A reason to do it now... Each year as Christmas approaches many of us say "If I had just made one gift a month throughout the year, I'd have 12 presents already made". Well this type of contest provides a great reason to do just that! Download this months designs and MAKE SOMETHING with them! Photograph it and enter the contest. Even if the bonus designs are not your cup of tea, there's probably someone on your gift list that would love something made by you with one or more of those designs on it. And if all else fails, you have something to donate to the next charity event you're making stuff for, or to swap at the next get-together with sewing friends.
A reason to photograph your work... If you are like most of us who make things and then give them away, you often say "I wish I had taken a photo of THAT project!" Now you'll have a reason for taking PHOTOS of your projects so later on you have a record of the beautiful work you did.
A wealth of ideas... Many times we see a set of designs and say "That's a nice set! I wonder what I could do with it?" With THIS contest you'll have a way to see what ideas others come up with to use a set of designs.
Become famous... The designs that were the contest designs this month will be offered for sale to non-members in two months. They are exclusive to members this month, and available as a new-member bonus next month. Then they go on sale. If your project photos are used to show off what can be done with those designs, then you will be credited with the project photos we display.
Your talent will be seen by thousands of other embroidery enthusiasts!

* Prize awards to people in the USA and Canada will be via check or Paypal. Prize awards to people in other countries will be via Paypal or will be awarded equivalent value in membership extension if they don't have Paypal. We do this because banks in other countries often charge $25 to $30 for collecting an "International Check" from a US bank. It's kind of silly to mail a check for $50 to someone and have them pay $25 or $30 of that prize money to their bank just for cashing the check! So, outside USA and Canada can still enter contest but prize will be awarded via Paypal or in equivalent membership extension.
"Vote manipulation" is not allowed. ("Vote manipulation" is asking a friend to vote for your project.) We don't want this to be a contest of who hase the most friends here, but rather who can make a project that others enjoy seeing.
