The Basics Of Quilting

While ATW is an embroidery site, there are many people who do both embroidery and quilting.  For this reason, we include this section of the website for those who are interested in getting started in quilting.

In this section of ATW you'll find numerous articles to get you going in one of the oldest and most fun areas of sewing... Quilting!

Members of ArtisticThreadWorks who have questions not covered in these articles can click into our forum and post your questions. There are LOTS of experienced quilters here to answer anything you might ask.  And who knows, your question could become the basis for a great article here in the bee.

We'd like to express a very big 'Thank You' to our friend Sally Fravel who wrote many of the great quilting articles in this section of ATW!

National Quilt Museum
National Quilt Museum Holly and I visited the National Quilt Museum in Paducah one Saturday afternoon. As expected, the quilts were spectacular. Here's some info about our visit. Unfortunately, you can't take photos there. But you can see some of the quilts on display at the museum's website. This is the same policy as most museums I've visited and I guess that keeps people coming through their doors instead of watching a slideshow or viewing a photo album on the internet... . . .
