February Contest Ready For Entries!

Sometimes I feel like a mosquito flying over a nudist colony... I can see what needs to be done, but am overwhelmed by the choices! :-)

Currently we are doing a workshop in Fort Myers. I am also working on a couple website projects. And at the same time have been handling the support emails for our customers while Robin is on vacation. (She comes back to work Monday - yeah!)

Great Story From Our Member QuirkyKim

My son came over to Atlanta, for a job interview. He presently works with the GEEK Squad, in Athens, GA, about an hour away. Today was an interview for a better job. We even went out to purchase a suit, since he didn't even own one. Anyway, he went to the interview with the IT security company. It went so well, he said, that afterwards he decided to drive around the immediate area to check out possible apartments to live, if he got the job. (He's a positive thinker, like I am!)

He met me afterwards for lunch, since we were both up in the area of the interview. He sat down and said, "O.K. Mom. I'll give you your laugh for the day." He told me he found the perfect apartment complex. It was brand new, and only about 2 minutes from the office, should he get the job.

He loved the "feel" of the place, so he went into the office of the complex to get more info on it. He was feeling so great in his new suit. He asked the lady about the units, and the cost, etc. She said she didn't think he "qualified". (Oh, I'm laughing again, for the umpteenth time since he told me this...)

He was pretty huffy, thinking to himself that he looked successful in his new suit and all. How could she say he didn't qualify?! He (I swear) looked at her and said, "What? I"m an adult, and I'm active."

Huh? The SIGN of the complex had said, "For Active Adults" !!! He truly did NOT have a CLUE it was a "55+" complex! He told me he didn't know they had places for 55+ "active adults" to live! He said they had a cafeteria style dining room and everything, and a pool, and it was so close to "work"! He was truly disappointed he couldn't live there!

The kicker is, I got home after he had been by to get his things, because he was headed back to Athens. THE BROCHURE for the place was on my kitchen counter! I almost wet myself, laughing so hard! It really, really was true. I just WISH I could have heard the reaction of the people in that office after he left! I just HAD to share. His cluelessness in some areas almost scares me. I told him he could move in and be in house Technical support for all of those "active adults." Oh, my. QuirkyKim

Join us at one of our upcoming "Digitize In A Day" workshops! The day starts at 8am with coffee and danish or bagels and a quick introduction to digitizing embroidery designs. By lunch time you will have digitized your first designs AND you'll understand how to do it again and again. After lunch it gets even more fun when you learn how to digitize faster and how to personalize the designs you make with fun and creative techniques.

(Note to members... when you post a photo in the gallery, it is automatically entered into the contest for that week's prize drawing. But, if the photo includes an embroidery design you must say what website or digitizer the design came from like mjaybee did with this photo, in order for it to win the prize for the week. If the design came from another digitizer, that's okay, you can still win with the photo, but we have to be able to credit the other digitizer's work or I can't post the photo here in our newsletter so I can't let that photo win. Okay? Cool. You guys rock! -- Larry)
