Tammy's Craft Room

Holly and I have been hanging out with Scott and Tammy outside Louisville for the last couple days. She has one heck of a nice craft room in their home. It's set up for embroidery, serger, Cricut, I think some kind of painting, and I don't know what else is in her play room. Everyone needs a room like that! Okay, maybe not need but it would be nice!

Last night we watched a video one of the guys in Scott's brigade put together from video clips guys in his unit shot while in Iraq. Wow. Very cool. The editor did a great job of bringing together the clips, music, action, and quiet times. The video clips shot from a 200 mph helicopter flying 40 feet above the ground were pretty cool too!

We plan to be in the Louisville area for a few more days then on to Indianapolis for a workshop there next Saturday May 15th. There are still a few seats left (3) in that workshop. We will be at the Holiday Inn "Holidome" facility. Looks like a nice place and it was recommended by one of the students that will be in the class as a great place. After Indianapolis it's on to Illinois for us and friends and family for a while before we hit the road again for our summer teaching trips.

Are you a member of ATW? If not, please join us and our community of embroidery enthusiasts. Our Design Library is open to all members for downloading as much as you'd like!

Our 2010 Schedule Of
Digitize In A Day Workshops

We have added new locations for our next classes on the embroidery highway. All are listed on the...

"Class Dates & Locations"

page of our "Digitize In A Day" website.

New classes listed and now available for purchase are Columbia, Charleston, Louisville, and Indianapolis. We can handle a maximum of 8 students in each class. This is a change from our previous 10 or 12 students. We find that 8 is the ideal number to have in a class at one time. There are enough students to hold a class but not so many that we can't give all the one-on-one attention needed to every student.

We have identified the rest of our planned workshops for 2010. If you are hoping to attend one of our classes, you can see where we will be throughout this year on this list...

April and May... Columbia SC, Charleston WV, Louisville KY, Indianapolis IN

July... Eau Claire WI, Fargo ND, Sioux Falls SD, Rapid City SD, Cheyenne WY, Omaha NE, Kansas City KS

August... Rockford IL "Digitize In A Day" and "Weekend Retreat"

Oct-Nov... Memphis TN, Oklahoma City OK, Dallas TX, Amarillo TX, Albuquerque NM, Northern part of Los Angeles CA, San Antonio TX, Houston TX, Jackson MS.

Jan 2010... Orlando FL weekend retreat (intermediate level workshop)

I've had a couple people ask if these classes will be over their head. The answer is "No". Our "Digitize In A Day" workshop is geared for the person who wants to explore digitizing and has little or no experience. Holly covers everything you need to know assuming you know nothing about digitizing.

If you are an experienced digitizer then these classes would be useful if you are considering changing to Generations software instead of the program you currently use. You would get up to speed on Generations very quickly by taking this class.

On the other hand, experienced Generations digitizers will probably benefit more from attending one of our intermediate level weekend retreats scheduled for August in Rockford IL or January in Orlando.

We will have exact dates and locations for these as soon as the hotels are reserved. Hope to see you there!

Recipe For Friendship

by rachielp

"Friendship Picture: Used Adia cloth for the canvas. The design is from Deb's Kitchen Recipes for towels. It is going to be for one of my friends birthdays this summer. "

Thank you rachielp
for posting this great picture
in our photo gallery!

Note: When posting pictures showing an embroidery
design in our photo gallery, please give
credit to the digitizer as other members will
want to know where to get those designs too!

Each photo posted in our photo gallery enters
you into our weekly photo contest where we give
away a 3 month membership to ATW.
It's a random drawing so your photo doesn't have
to show some wonderful one-of-a-kind project
in order to be the winner.

Just do something, take a picture,
and post it to our photo gallery!

(Note to members... when you post a photo in the gallery, it is automatically entered into the contest for that week's prize drawing. But, if the photo includes an embroidery design you must say what website or digitizer the design came from like mjaybee did with this photo, in order for it to win the prize for the week. If the design came from another digitizer, that's okay, you can still win with the photo, but we have to be able to credit the other digitizer's work or I can't post the photo here in our newsletter so I can't let that photo win. Okay? Cool. You guys rock! -- Larry)
